Mystique, intrigue, and curiosity. This is the only way I can express how I feel about Cuba. I have been lucky enough to travel to 20+ countries thus far, yet Cuba has always been at the top of my list. Perhaps I am intrigued by the unknown; by culture that is preserved through Cuban people, architecture, and lifestyle.

Every time I travel, I always delve into local culture. The most authentic experiences always take place when I immerse myself in the scenery, cuisine, and local markets. I let go of fear, judgement, and bias.

I have been looking for an organization that can provide me with that kind of immersive experience for Cuba. Fathom is at the top of my list because their focus is on connecting people with culture.

"For mindful travelers, Fathom offers a truly historic opportunity: a chance to help build new bridges to a rich and vibrant culture that, until now, hasn’t been open to U.S. travelers by sea for more than 50 years."

What Fathom Offers Travelers + What To Expect: A seven day journey including three stops within Cuba: Havana, Cienfuegos, and Santiago de Cuba.

1. Educational Opportunities: At sea, you have the chance to view cultural documentaries, take Spanish lessons, listen to Cuban music, and have the option to participate in small change-maker breakout sessions designed to maximize your travel experience.

2. Cuisine: Savor your Cuban palate by drinking Cuban coffee, try meat marinated in mojo sauce accompanied with rice and beans, and savor the sweet taste of flan.

3. Cultural Immersion: On ground, experience the beautifully preserved architecture through walking tours, hop in a classic American car, converse with business owners, and simply take the time to absorb the natural elegance of your surroundings.

If you are interested in traveling to Cuba as much as I am, I encourage you to explore Fathom's trips to Cuba. I know I will be planning at trip with them this year.
